Looks like the jubilee edition of International Choir Festival MUNDUS CANTAT SOPOT has reached the end! Choristers from all over the world competed in 3 festival categories for the 10th time.

According to the jury, the best choir in category C – “Spirituals, gospel, jazz” was Gloria Children’s Choir from Zhytomyr, Ukraine. The winner of category B “Secular music” is Prima Vista Youth Choir from Kirovohrad, Ukraine. Among adult choirs, Gaia Philharmonic Choir from Tokyo, Japan turned out to be the best in that category. Category A brings further victories for Ukraine – PRIMA VISTA wins also the “Sacral music” category. SUPRA VOCALIS ENSEMBLE from Gdańsk Academy of Music is the laureate in category A among academic choirs, while Gaia Philharmonic Choir wins this category among adult ensembles.

The winner of the Grand Prix – Statuette of Sopot Seagull of the 10th International Choir Festival MUNDUS CANTAT 2014 is Gaia Philharmonic Choir under the baton of prominent conductor and composer Ko Matsushita.
